Not being too familiar with Korean food, we gathered a bunch of friends and made a reservation at this place. When we arrived, we were the only ones here, and t he place never really filled up, so the reservations were not really necessary. Nevertheless, we felt better having made them. We asked the woman who greeted us for help. She explained the differences in the different offerings and helped us select representative dishes. We also asked about spice levels. She promised us that all the food is spicy to a "4 or 5" level. In this she was wrong as we found everything to be relatively mild. On the other hand, most everything was very flavorful, so perhaps the use of the term "spice" was misused? The only dish that we were really disappointed in was the Miso Soup - and I do not believe it's Korean anyway - it was a thin broth and did not really contain any bits of tofu or scallions. When we tasted the various Korean dishes, we enjoyed them. Many of the tables have a built-in BBQ device and since we ordered two dishes that used that, we got to see it in operation. The first one we got was a beef bulgogi where the meat arrived all marinated and seasoned, and was finished on the grill. It came with onions and zucchini which also got cooked. On the side came a small tray with some lettuce leaves, a few slices of jalapeno, raw garlic, and a paste of something that tasted a bit like a peanut paste. The waitress (owner?) told us to make a lettuce wrap with the beef (once cooked) and put in it all the little extras. The combination worked well. The other dish that used the grill was the beef Galbi. These are shortribs that have been sliced and marinated. They do come with some of the bone attached. The owner used scissors to cut them to size and once cooked, we took them to our plates. While the flavor was great, and they were very tender, we really could have used a knife to cut them down a bit more as holding on to the bone and gnawing them with our teeth was awkward at best. The other two dishes were a chicken stir-fry served on rice and a veggie stir fry served on sweet potato noodles. Neither of those dishes excited us much. They were decent, but not great. Accompaniments to all of this was a small tray with some condiments. They include a tablespoon or so of each so it was only a tiny bit to share for two people. We also ordered their house kimchi since the owner told us she makes her own. We actually liked the cucumber kimchi better than the cabbage one. Our conclusion at the end of the experience was that the food and ambiance and experience was good - but not great. We intend to go back to try some more of the dishes we did not have a chance to, so maybe those others will turn out better than the ones we did? Certainly the owner did all she can to make the visit a success.

I highly recommend the Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbap (Sizzling Stone Bowl Rice) and Budae-jjigae (Spicy Sausage Stew). Since the owners are a very experienced couple who prepare everything by hand, the flavors are incredibly deep and offer a truly authentic Korean dining experience. The stew might be a bit spicy for some, but the flavor is so rewarding that it’s definitely worth a try! I visited during my trip, and I’m already looking forward to coming back to try other items on the menu. A must-visit if you want real Korean soul food!

My wife and I are on our second visit here. This is a small, quiet restaurant that does not get the praise it deserves in our area. Oldies play quietly in the background as you are greeted and seated by polite staff. Our first trip in my wife and I got sushi, and our latest visit we got the spicy shrimp ramen, and no spice chicken ramen for lunch. The sushi here is exceptional, a hidden gem for the area in my opinion and I have eaten sushi almost everywhere in the local area. Do not let the prices scare you, the food is worth the money. The ramen was a great, light lunch packed with flavor and heat depending on your choice. Don't sleep on this place, the food is great and it is a cute little place.

This place is amazing! Our first time having Korean food so we had no idea about anything but our waitress broke every single page down for us and helped us so much to understand. She was incredible! The food was so delicious, the atmosphere cozy, we will definitely be back

Yesterday, I decided to try Oya Sushi & Korean Grill. Upon arrival, I was greeted shortly after entering by what seemed to be the only server. She has said Hello! and asked if there was only one. I said yes. She sat me down closer to the beverage station and gave me a menu. The restaurant is very small and there were on 2 others besides me in there. Not going to lie, I wasn't near anyone but still felt claustrophobic. Its a small space! She had asked me what Id like to drink as if I even got to open the menu she JUST handed me! I just said water because how can you go wrong with that? I finally open the menu to find bright color block pages with organized words. Yes! You read that right! The first page were drinks, very limited unless you drink soda pop. I flipped back and forth the eye sore of bright colored pages wondering if there was a method to their madness. Since all it was, was organized words on bright color pages, I pulled out my handy dandy phone. I had to type in the food I wasn't familiar with on Google to see what it looked like. I'm not sure about you, but as a woman, I made choices easily if there are visuals. My hunger does not desire to read but see a picture and be like Oooo! That looks yummy! As I said before, just bright pages with organized words, not a picture or visual representation to be seen except by internet search. After searching some food items, the server came and asked if I knew what I wanted yet. I asked her what was most popular. She had stated the Ramen due to the weather and then pointed out a page. I had an item pulled up on my phone from that page. I asked her what the difference was from the items on the top vs bottom of that page. She informed me that the only difference was one is on a skillet while the other was in a bowl and has lettuce. I like veggies so I quickly said I'd have the chicken dyslop. She asked if Id like the spicy sauce on the side, I said yes. What I ordered came with miso soup and a small platter which changes daily as stated on the menu. I wasn't sure what I was getting until it was brought out. She brought the soup and platter out together. I was not impressed. The miso soup wasn't even filled half way and tasted like instant miso that they just added freshly chopped scallions on top. NO SEAWEED, NO TOFU, to me that was NOT real miso soup. I expected better, but that's the problem with having expectations. Moving onto the platter. The platter had some type of macaroni salad which was rather quite delicious. Next to it was a bite size of some type of warm chicken with 2 soggy cube flavored potatoes that were cold. Uncertain if that part was supposed to be like that, it was okay. Next to it was a pinch of some kind of vinegar salad so it seemed. Little spice, marinated cucumber with onions, not a fan of whatever that was and typically I enjoy stuff like that. At this point, IM HUNGRY and praying my actual dish is delicious. She brought out my dish and made sure to tell me the bowl was hot. I took what seemed to be stainless steel chopsticks out of the napkin wrapped with a fork. Pleasant thought except if you leave them in the hot bowl a second to long, your guaranteed to burn your mouth with every bite. My chicken dyslop smelled absolutely delicious and was so beautiful apon presentation, it felt like a sin to eat. Your girl was hungry so I ignored burning my mouth with every delicious bite. I ate half of it without the spicy sauce and it was still great. The spicy sauce was moderate in flavor and kick. Great addition to it if you like spice. Eventually I got tired of burning my mouth so I switched to the fork and devoured the rest of it with the spicy sauce. Overall, it was decent. Main course was phenomenal. I would highly suggest updated the menu, not saying they need to all have pictures but at least the popular dishes should have something. I will try this place once more to try the sushi and ramen at least and gather more pictures (of the menu) to add to the review. The server was bland and boring, no enthusiasm/ personalit, nor a name.
